Honorary doctorate

We congratulate Prof. Dr. Norer on his appointment as honorary doctor of the University of Miskolc.

Prof. Dr. Roland Norer, Full Professor of Public Law and Rural Law at the Faculty of Law of the University of Lucerne and member of the Institute Management of "Cultures of the Alps", was awarded an honorary doctorate by the University of Miskolc (Hungary). The University of Miskolc, whose roots go back to 1735, is the most important educational institution in northern Hungary and has eight faculties and around 13,000 students.

The award ceremony took place during a festive academic celebration on 3 September 2021. Prof. Norer's merits were highlighted, especially as a leading jurist in European agricultural law, his work as general delegate of the European Congress of Agricultural Law CEDR and his promotion and support of this field at the Faculty of Law in Miskolc. This is only the third time that a member of the Lucerne faculty has received this high honour.
