People are on the move, shifting the center of their lives, leaving a village, moving to another region. Sometimes the distances are short, sometimes long. Others stay in the same place for a long time and lead a more sedentary life. Every society is characterized by the relationship between those who come, those who go and those who stay.
Migration has many different causes and takes many different forms. It triggers change, brings conflict and cooperation, is sometimes an experience of powerlessness and exclusion, sometimes an experience of empowerment and integration. Moving in, leaving and staying also play an important role in Uri's past and present.
On this evening, we will take a look at some of the countless faces that migration has. We will listen to testimonials, discuss sticking points and think about how the relationship between Uri and its migration could be described.
