In her dissertation project, located at the interface of philosophy and literary studies, Julia Rüegger examines contemporary theoretical and prose texts that address the entanglements of the new earth age in a formally aesthetic and epistemologically productive way. She is particularly interested in the model of 'entanglement' as well as in a planetary and deep-temporal perspective that takes into account different scales of space and time. In addition to a close reading of the selected texts with regard to formal and knowledge-generating aspects, she also examines their discourse-historical implications. With this approach, she expands Anthropocene research in literary and cultural studies with an approach that illuminates experimental procedures of contemporary theory and prose production in their interaction.
