Elena Arnold holds a Master of Arts in Cultural Studies with a focus on history from the University of Lucerne. In her master's thesis, she examined the political agency of the Catholic Women's Association of Uri prior to the introduction of cantonal women's voting rights in 1972. She is head of the secretariat and communications at the Uri Institute for Alpine Cultures.
