Urner Banquet Républicain

The «Banquet républicain» dates back to the French Revolution. These banquets were occasions for debates on political issues and life in general. The «Urner Banquet Républicain» is now in its sixth year.

The 2026 event will focus on the theme of «Life and challenges in mountain regions.» This is a topic that concerns everyone in Uri and is on the minds of many of us, both politically and privately. What do we need in terms of the economy, tourism, infrastructure...? What do climate change and natural hazards mean for mountain regions? Kurt Zgraggen, managing director of Swiss Mountain Aid, will give a keynote speech and answer questions from our moderator, Julia Trottmann from Politcast Uri.

Afterwards, the banquet guests will continue the discussion at their tables. The meeting point is the Zum Schwarzen Löwen restaurant. All interested contemporaries are cordially invited.
