Market of measures

ETH students will be presenting their projects for a climate-positive Canton of Uri at a public market on 22 May from 12.00 to 17.00 in the Mehrzweckhalle Winkel.

Around 120 students at ETH Zurich have been working on a "Climate-positive Canton of Uri" since September 2023 as part of the "Environmental Problem Solving" course. Last autumn, they researched the initial situation and were able to gain their first impressions of Uri during an excursion. Building on this, the students identified challenges and developed possible solutions together with local people. The students learnt how important it is to take a holistic view of problems and to understand the needs of the people affected and involve them in order to implement their project ideas.

The topics range from renewable energies, mobility and tourism to agriculture and forestry and how these areas could be designed in a climate-positive way. The students present the results of their work at a "market of measures". This market is open to the public and will take place on Wednesday, 22 May 2024 from 12-5 pm in the Mehrzweckhalle Winkel in Altdorf. Further information can be found in the flyer.

If you are interested in finding out what challenges environmental science students see facing Uri and what solutions they propose, you are cordially invited to visit the Market of Measures. Registration is not necessary.

We look forward to your participation and stimulating discussions.
