Jens Badura is a professor of philosophy, a member of the Research School's faculty, and head of the «Alpine Futures Literacy» program at the Uri Institute Cultures of the Alps. At the Department of Design, Film, and Art at the Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts, he directs the BA program in «Creative Transformation» and is a member of the research groups «Postdisciplinary Art Research» and «Transformation Design». He is also an Associated Researcher at the Zurich University of the Arts (ZHdK). He focuses on the Alps as a model cultural space where both cultural-historical and contemporary cultural phenomena become apparent in a concentrated form. He examines these primarily from an aesthetic and cultural-philosophical perspective, working at the intersection of the sciences, the arts, and subject-specific practical contexts. He is also driven by the question of how artistic modes of thought and practice can be fruitfully integrated into processes of transdisciplinary research and what potential this creates for the development of a new «Alpine Futures Literacy».
