The Graduate School is an integral part of the Uri Institute "Cultures of the Alps". Its members conduct research on current topics relating to the Alpine region. One of them is the literary scholar Dr. Jonas Frick. In his post-doctoral project, he is investigating the cultural perception and representation of artificial snow.

The course "Environmental Problem Solving" is part of the ETH degree programme in Environmental Sciences. As part of the first year of the programme, students deal with selected sustainability problems in a region of Switzerland. The current focus is on a "climate-positive canton of Uri".
