On the evening of September 28, 2023, the project "Uri in Transition - Population and Science in Dialogue" explored social developments surrounding the topic of "Uri and Migration" as part of a panel discussion.
People are on the move, shifting the center of their lives, leaving a village, moving to another region. Sometimes the distances are short, sometimes long. Others stay in the same place for a long time and lead a more sedentary life. Every society is characterized by the relationship between those who come, those who go and those who stay. Migration has many different reasons and takes many different forms. Moving in, leaving and staying also play an important role in Uri's past and present.
The selected panel guests - Kaoutar Zgraggen, Arabic-German interpreter, Matteo Schenardi, theater educator and Adriana Stadler, artist - were representative of the terms "coming", "going" and "staying". The exciting exchange between panel guests, academics and the public was recorded, transcribed and archived for the future by the project team Rahel Wunderli and Chiara Zgraggen.
